Caleb University offers a wide range of sporting activities and programmes that meet the needs of sport enthusiasts. Some of these include football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track and field, and many other indoor games.
The Sports Directorate is responsible for the planning, coordination, and development of sporting activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and holistic student development across the University.

Dr. Arc. Odefadehan Tayo Christian
Under the leadership of Dr. Arc. Odefadehan Tayo Christian, Director of Sports, the Directorate has witnessed renewed energy and structure in its operations. Dr. Odefadehan brings a strong background in administration, student engagement, and youth development, combining academic excellence with a passion for sports and community building.



A major achievement of the Directorate is the successful organization of the Vice Chancellor’s Games (VC Games), now in its third edition. The VC Games has become a flagship intra-university sporting event, featuring football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, athletics, tug of war, and board games such as chess, with participation from departments across the University. The Games foster unity, discipline, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students.
The Sports Directorate has also overseen notable improvements in sports facilities within the University, including the refurbishment of the sports pavilion, repair and repainting of the basketball court and fencing, and preparation of the athletics track for competitive events.
In addition to internal competitions, the Directorate represents Caleb University at external sporting engagements, including participation in the Nigeria Private Universities Games Association (NPUGA) competitions, further enhancing the University’s visibility and sporting profile.
Through structured programs, partnerships with sponsors, and collaboration with stakeholders, the Sports Directorate remains committed to building a vibrant sports culture that supports student wellbeing and institutional pride at Caleb University.
